Westfield Community Fibre Project – October 2022 update
The Parish Council can confirm that the Openreach Community Project to connect over 800 properties within Westfield Parish to Ultrafast Full Fibre has been moved into delivery planning stage. This is so exciting and makes the many months of hard work and partnership working with Openreach all worth it. Extra special thanks has to be given to Jessica from Openreach. Many of you met her at the Parish Assembly when she gave her presentation. She personally has pushed this project forward and made it happen which has been fantastic. Also many thanks to MP Sally-Ann Hart who helped in the finals stages to get the project over the line.
MANY THANKS to all the residents for your patience. I know this has been ongoing but many of you will be able to upgrade existing contracts once the ultrafast broadband is available. It is still going to take time for the project to be rolled out but it is a very exciting time. Further details can be found here.

Westfield Parish Council statement on the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

A Book of Condolence for Her Majesty has been placed at St John the Baptist Church for residents to sign. We hope many residents will write their messages in book at the Church. The Royal Family have also set up an online Book of Condolence for the Queen at https://www.royal.uk/send-message-condolence. The Church have also suggested any resident wishing to lay flowers in honour of Her Majesty the Queen can place these outside on the left hand side of the church door. The Parish Council would like to thank the Church for organising the Book of Condolence and providing a central point in the Parish to lay flowers.
Annual Parish Assembly 25th May
Westfield Parish Council invited all residents across the Parish to celebrate the community of Westfield and all they have achieved over the last few years. We had a wide range of sport clubs, clubs and local charities attend the session as well as many residents. It was very well attended and thanks were given to all residents and volunteers over the last few years especially those who kept groups going, the local businesses who adapted during the pandemic and all the volunteers who took food and medications out to residents. Special thanks were given to Ken Munday and all the volunteers involved in the amazing Westfield Lights having raised over £100k for St Michael’s Hospice as well as Robbie Jones for all of his hard work maintaining the church yard.
